40+ Sleeping Beauties That Aren’t Charming Any Princes

Napping is an inexpensive luxury. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, you might want to consider taking a nap. It’s an effective mood booster, and it helps with your attention and memory. If you can’t get a full night’s rest, try to get a nap in during the day. These people have, though some seem unintentional!

The pull of sleep was too strong for them to stay awake on roller coaster rides, on public transportation, and even at their job. Sleeping isn’t usually hilarious, but it becomes funny if you see where these people have fallen asleep, and what they look like doing so.

Does this mean that you should wait until you get home before taking that much-deserved rest? No. But, make sure to doze off somewhere you’ll be uninterrupted. You don’t want to be awakened by the flash of the camera…

Have Some Attitude

In ballet, an Attitude is a position where the ballerina supports his or her weight on one leg while lifting the other leg with the knee bent inward. If bent upward and toward the spine, it’s called a Derriere. It takes years for dancers to master this pose, but this man has been able to learn it in a couple of hours while asleep!

Imagine him wearing a pair of wings and armed with a bow. This Cherubin seems like he’s getting a good night’s sleep. But how was he even able to get in that position in the first place? It looks as if he was sitting on the couch’s back pillows when he slumped over and fell asleep on the seat cushions.

In a Headlock

This man has got himself in a jam right here. While taking the NYC subway, he looked out his side of the window and felt himself falling asleep. He rested his head against the headrest. It slid backward oblivious to the frequent jarring breaks and accelerations until it rested uncomfortably (that position doesn’t look comfortable at all).

Bet he’ll have a hard time orienting himself when he wakes up. He might even miss his stop trying to figure out how he had gotten in a chokehold. Maybe next time he’ll occupy the vacant seat beside him, instead of getting his head stuck in that awkward position.

Having a Sleepover

Depending on your personality, having a friend sleepover can either be fun or dreadful. This guy had been called up by a friend. His friend needed to stay over for a night after being kicked out by his girl. He showed them the guest sofa bed/ and told him to make himself at home.

When he checked in the next morning, he saw his guest fast asleep on the floor, and his cat had taken over the sofa bed. Talk about overly- considerate houseguest. We can only hope his guest’s girlfriend called him to come home soon. Sleeping on the floor isn’t very comfortable.

Before purchasing a book, we like to read the reviews. We’re careful when it comes to how we spend our time. If we want to learn how to speak a language, we had better be able to do so in a couple of weeks. If we want to learn how to sleep well, then we should be able to nap on the train while reading the book.

We don’t think we need to write a review for this one. All we need is to upload the picture and rate it a solid 5 out of 5! This woman hadn’t even gone halfway through the book before learning how to falling asleep. It seems like she has just gotten past the introductory page.

Bae is Fabulous

How do you know if your partner trusts you? It’s when he takes up space in your apartment and falls asleep on one of your armchairs. Likely, you’ll eventually see him in a vulnerable position – cradled up or lying like this declaring, “Bae, I’m fabulous!”

And we’re not complaining. In fact, we find it adorable. We would have probably gone a step further and woken him up to sleep in the bed. He might have a more comfortable time sleeping sprawled on the sheets. It’s better to call it a night!

Bag Has your Back

In Japan, employees have to drink sake as a form of respect for their bosses. It’s called the enkai – it’s a form of work bonding where the team unwinds; make no mistake, it’s an extension of work. Subordinates impress their boss by going to the party, and courteously downing drinks. Sometimes, they do so well past their drinking threshold.

And you would pass upon many employees on public transportation services like this. He must have been waiting for the train or a bus, so he slid his bag against the railing. It would have been a good idea if he weren’t so dead-beat drunk that he’s slumped all over. Let’s hope he made a good impression on his team!

Purr-fect

This is one of the most adorable pictures online. A litter of kittens snuggled this man. One has her paw on his head, kissing him to sleep, while the other had just stretched out on his back. Who do you think is in the most comfortable position? Him or any of them?

In case you’re wondering, he and his wife had adopted this litter of kittens. Guess they took a little time adjusting to the change in their homes. And the couple seems to have made them all feel right at home. If we had chanced upon them like this, we wouldn’t have woken them up from their siesta.

I’m Knackered

In British slang, this means I’m tired. It’s a brilliant English phrase, but it carries a hint of superiority. You know how Londoners are. If you can’t picture one, just look at this man below. Even while asleep, he gives off the air of someone snobbish.

We hope the ride was short because that has got to hurt. We can’t even tell which is in a worse position – his back or his legs, especially since he’s a little top-heavy. It doesn’t help that the seats are too far apart – with passengers facing each other. Maybe next time, he should have laid his head on the vacant seat beside him.

How do you pass the time waiting in between flights? You could sift through a magazine or finish a book. You could call someone up and catch them up about your trip. Sometimes, people like to spend time shopping in the stores in the departure hall. But for us, sleeping is the easiest option.

Finding a spot, however, is difficult. So when this man had taken up space between two rows of public seats, he made sure to occupy the ones on the farthest end. We’re unsure if he had been asleep because it takes some degree of ab control to maintain that position. It’s a good thing he’s got a hard case supporting his weight.

Keep Quiet

In universities, we love hanging out at the library. Books surround you, and every sound you hear is kept to a minimum. Libraries are quiet places, after all. It’s one of the best study places, and it’s also one of the best spots to catch up on a bit of much-deserved sleep.

So that’s why the librarians are hard on us for making too much noise. It’s to accommodate these students who have studied all night, and who have chosen to doze off in the library. We like to think this is the reason anyway- although we dont know if its really the case.

Taking Flight

What comes to mind when you hear or read the word flight attendant? We always perceive them as being well-poised and accommodating. We rarely see any attendant misbehaving on the job. It’s quite tricky to do so in a cabin with limited space. But on his way back to his seat, a passenger had encountered this stewardess. Do you think he should call for help?

They deserve more credit than we can possibly give. Imagine having to stand up for X number of hours, and smiling for most of the flight. Notably, this stewardess deserves our respect for her flexibility. That’s an odd way of sleeping on the job.

Quality Control

When looking for a mattress or pillows, the first thing to consider is comfort. All else aside, you’re going to be using them for a reasonably long time, so it’s alright to splurge on these items. While browsing the shelves, this man saw a display bin full of pillows and decided to do a quality control test.

Results? They exceeded his expectations. A couple of minutes later, he was drooling, and a slight snore escaped his lips. His friend had to wake him up. We’re pretty sure he added a couple of them to his cart. Quality guaranteed and personally checked!

But too much weight is put on her face, so that armrest will likely be etched on it for a while after she wakes up.

Growing up, our parents were hard on us for drinking heavily at parties. The last thing we wanted was an hour-long sermon before going to bed. How do you know if it’s exam week? One way to tell is seeing your students all slumped over and shuffling their way to class. Some might even excuse themselves from their classes. This is more common than you think. People in East Asia would attach hammocks beneath trucks. Drivers can unwind and catch up on some sleep during pitstops. We haven’t encountered someone sleeping in them while the truck was moving. That’s too unbearable to watch.

We’re pretty sure that would be totally illegal, and if seen, police officers would stop the truck and have them pull over to the side of the road immediately. “License and registration, please.” That would delay the transport and get the driver in trouble.

Counter Closed

You will need some degree of creativity to nap at work and still be able to keep your job. The last thing we want is for your boss to walk in the room with you being unproductive. So this man thought of maneuvering his chair under the desk and sleeping there.

It’s ingenious! No one will be able to see him. And the clientele, thinking that the counter is closed, will move on to the next attendant. Maybe they’ll leave an e-mail for him to work on at a later date. Too bad our chairs at work aren’t this flexible, or our desks this accommodating.

That made us go aww. Not only had he given him a pillow to rest his head on, but a hug as well. We hope this friendship will continue until adulthood. Having a friend who can protect you from the prickly hay during your naps is definitely worthy of your loyalty.

Fully Loaded

Bus Drivers are the Kings of the road. They maneuver bulky machines, and they ferry passengers to and from destination points all over the city. So when they want to take a power nap, they deserve to hog up the whole bus. They won’t sleep in the aisles. They’ll choose somewhere more apparent.

That’s just how they command respect. They own the road and the public service vehicles they drive. The only downside to this is that there aren’t any tints on the windows. It’s hard to catch some sleep with sunlight pouring through the front glass.
