My visits to Petra over the years have opened my eyes to all of the things you will need to always consider before you visit Petra. All of which I will now expose you to in this article through a question and answer spree.

WHAT TIME IS THE BEST TIME TO PAY A VISIT TO THE BEAUTY OF PETRA?

Visit Petra either during Spring which is from March to May or during Autumn which is between September and November when the temperature will be cooler. And make your travel either by 5 am during sunrise or by 3 pm.

HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD YOU TAKE OUT TO EXPLORE THE BEAUTY?

WHAT IS THE BEST ROUTE INTO PETRA?

Take a four-hour drive from Amman airport either by car, taxi or public buses, through the highway into Petra.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO VISIT PETRA?

For a day visit, you will pay 90JD for a pass.

For an overnight visit, you will pay 50JD for a pass.

Meanwhile, Jordanian citizens, students or Arabian nationals pay 1JD while kids under 15 are allowed in for free.

ARE THERE PLACES TO MAKE MERRY IN PETRA?

The map you will be given with your ticket will help you locate restaurants around. However, consider packing your meal and eating it outside. Nobody comes to Petra to sit in restaurants!

WHAT SHOULD YOU COME ALONG WITH?

Sturdy shoes you will feel comfortable in all day while you check out the beauty of Petra, a hat, sunglasses, sunblock, and water supply on standby.
